I’m using Google Forms to create my questionnaire. It’s easy to share the link on social media and get a good average of people to actually answer my questions on what I’ve done so far (which isn’t much as of 16/5/18: Rough Intro/Title Card Thumbnail) so it’s okay if not a lot of people fill out the questionnaire.
Analysis of Audience Research
Good Music Video:
Colourful – good colour grading, clear storyline – easy to follow and related to the song, spread awareness to something, Good quality content with a quality song, Strong style/mood conveyed – using effects, great choreography, good looking people, great concept.
Bad Music Video:
No structure or concept – no flow, one location/performing standing still/unrelated to the song/uncoordinated dance moves/repeated scenes/bland visuals(clothes, backdrops, scenes) – boring and doesn’t grab attention, bad influence – promotes crime and offense, irrelevant explicit imagery, too many performance shots.
No one cared about the director. Most people cared about the song, then the style of the video, then the artist.
“People may be more interested in supporting a growing artist than an already very popular artist, because they will feel like they are contributing to their growth.”
“Empathy, we will be able to appreciate the artist better”
“If it is all about the artist and distracts from the message I wouldn't be as interested.”
One person believed in the importance of meaning and theme (clues/Easter eggs) of the song through the video (or even just the video).
“Get a lot of groups of people involved so they feel like they are apart of the project. Emphasise the involvement in current youth issues since that is something a lot of people are very interested in”
“It's very good, I just think that title picture could be colour coordinated a bit better, but it looks very good so far just keep it original. Also looks very thought out and thoroughly planned so far. Even though it's a Christian song, which could be looked down upon or looked badly upon by people, the lyrics are pretty mainstream with a good flow, so it should get a good reach.”
“Put the title up before the music with a panning shot and then bring the music in” - About the draft intro video
